Find a Grave App Reviews

I really love the app. I go to a small conglomerate of cemeteries and it is great to see where the photo requests are. However, it would be great to submit edits to managers of memorials or edit the ones I manage. Once that is an option I would give the app 5 stars.

I had already found the grave record and picture but was having trouble importing to Ancestry.com. I thought this app might work better since it is developed by ancestry.com. I gave all the information including name, dates and cemetery name and found no results. When I put in the name, town and state of the cemetery, it returned no resurfacing the cemetery. Unintelligible!

I just love this app its great and easy to use . Great way to learn about our history you never know what you will find out like my father having brothers and sisters 30 years older than him who knew thanks Find a grave I always wondered about that .

We need an app update; I can not load photos. Thank You.

9/26/15. Often freezes, crashes, or says no results found. App needs some serious work.

Love that I can take Find a grave anywhere & that it puts my pics in an upload que, so I can just keep taking pics. Great on a cold, windy Oct day. Also love the map puts the pin in the right spot in the cemetery. Just wish I could add a photo with gps & then add the memorial, asked about my 2x g-grand parents on a whim & they were there, so I added them on the spot. But that is minor issue & wouldnt be needed very often. Keep up the great work!

Awesome app! Im a member of Find A Grave and this app makes it easy to add photos, GPS mark and add new graves directly from my phone. No need for separate devices. Only suggestion is to add edit features to submit changes if errors found. The GPS accuracy seems a little off.

Ive been a FindAGrave member for 6 years but just discovered the app a few days ago. Just so happen to be traveling for work near where my dads family is from. I had one day to visit 7 cemeteries scattered around the area. Before I found the app I was struggling to figure out how to organize my data while making the best use of my time. This app helped tremendously. I was able to locate my graves as well as find a few requested graves along the way. Before this app I was struggling to find accurate directions to each cemetery. Using gps coordinates from the app lead me straight to the spot. Uploading pics, editing memorials and creating new memorials was a snap. This app is very well designed and easy to use. I had no problems adding gps coordinates to graves, although its not as accurate for the grave sites as I was hoping. 2 suggestions I have though. 1: Make messages left on our profiles available in the app. 2: Make adding cemeteries as a favorite available in the app. Also make them available to view in the app. I can not see the current cemeteries I have saved as favorites in the app. Im not talking about the virtual cemeteries. They are available. Would absolutely recommend to anyone searching for graves.

Makes no sense...I know my mothers year of birth/year of death/State/County etc. No results...horrible app, they got some updating to do. Dont download.

Old app worked great. New version doesnt upload GPS coordinates. Acts like its trying, but doesnt upload. I use that feature to mark headstones when recording cemetery data. Wish I hadnt updated the old app.

This seems to be a very handy app but it loads so painfully sloooooooow that it can hardly even be used!

Doesnt find anything or anyone. ABSOLUTELY USELESS APP.

APP ONLY UPLOADS HORRIBLE QUALITY LOW RES PHOTOS. Transcribe feature looks good. Doesnt populate once filled out. Amount of photos to transcribe is vastly different between pages.

I havent had much trouble with it so far, but it is missing something in the transcription area. Twice Ive transcribed a headstone with just one name on it, and the app will ask me if I want to attach it to a memorial, and theres not a "No" option in sight. Theres simply not enough information to say for sure whether a one-name headstone goes with that memorial or not. Another menu option Id like, but was unable to locate, is one to let me know if there are any photo requests in my area.

I appreciate that you can edit memorials that you add, but you cannot suggest any edits to anyone. I wish that you could put a birth year range (same for the website as well) rather than before, after, or in. I agree that it would be helpful to view the photo requests in the area. I like the format and layout of the app, as it seems quite intuitive. Another feature that might be useful is to be able to flag a duplicate memorial (with the option to add a comment about whether or not it is in the same cemetery where there is a duplicate, etc. There also seems to be a glitch with the photo transcription that if it doesnt match, I will have the same photo pop up to transcribe maybe 5 minutes later.

I use the Internet site frequently and am a volunteer. Decided to download the app for convenience. Immediately got hung up on the transcription page. Unable to transcribe or move anywhere else. Also cemeteries which are on the Internet do not all appear on the app! Needs lots of work!! Going back to Internet if I can.

Stuck on transcription page. Deleted and reloaded app--still stuck!
